APEDA Registration

The Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) was established by the Government of India under the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority Act, 1985, which came into force on 13 February 1986. The aim of APEDA is to promote the export of scheduled products. Every exporter of Scheduled products is required to obtain APEDA Registration.

Under Section 12 sub-section (1) of the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority Act, 1985 (as amended), every person exporting any one or more of the Scheduled products shall, before the expiration of one month from the date on which he undertakes such export, apply to the Authority to be registered as an exporter of the Scheduled product or Scheduled products. The section further provides that the Authority may, for sufficient reason, extend the time-limit for registration by such period as it thinks fit.

The Registration-cum-Membership Certificate (RCMC) is issued to exporters subject to following the laid-down procedures. With the objective of simplification of procedures and ease of doing business, APEDA has implemented an online system for issuance of RCMC using digital signatures (operational since 1 August 2015, with subsequent updates as per current guidelines). In the present process, exporters are required to submit the application and documents online. The RCMC is valid for the period specified under current APEDA regulations (currently 5 years, subject to revision).

• Self-certified copy of the Importer-Exporter Code (IEC) issued by DGFT (PAN-based IEC).
• Self-certified copy of PAN issued by Income Tax Department.
• Business constitution document / proof of business.
• Address proof for registered address.
• A bank certificate in a specified format is required.
• List of Directors / Partners as applicable.
• A cancelled cheque of the business bank account.
• Description of the products being exported.
• The period for which you require the APEDA Registration-cum-Membership Certificate (RCMC).
• Mobile number, Email ID.
• In case the exporter desires to register as a Manufacturer Exporter, they should furnish a self-attested copy of the registration of the company with the relevant certification agencies for the products given below.

• Registration under Karnataka Shops and Commercial Establishments Act 1961
• MSME or Udyog Aadhar Registration
• Professional Tax Registration
• Registration under Employee Provident Fund
• Registration under Employee State Insurance
• Import Export Code
• STPI or Non STPI Registration
• Trade License from BBMP
• FSSAI
